National Science and Technology Park’s (NSTP) Kodifly, has secured a $750,000 investment from Laidlaw Scholars Ventures. Kodifly leverages AI to enhance infrastructure management and safety in the transportation sector. This investment marks a significant milestone, enabling the advancement of Kodifly's AI technologies and products while expanding its market presence.

Kodifly was co-founded by Henry Wong and Saad Shahid Anwel, both of whom are former Laidlaw Scholars. Henry Wong, the CEO, is a mechanical engineer turned technology entrepreneur with experience in the computer vision and AI industries. He was part of the team that created the world's fastest robotic fish, earning a Guinness World Record. Saad Shahid Anwel, the CTO, has expertise in entrepreneurship, robotics, and machine learning. A graduate of the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Computer Engineering, Saad founded BREED, the university's first and largest bio-inspired robotics organisation. He is also a Laidlaw research scholar and a recipient of the Arthur and Louise May Robotics Scholarship.

Under their leadership, Kodifly focuses on using LiDAR AI models to develop robust urban mobility and infrastructure solutions. The startup's offerings include revolutionary AI-based solutions for traffic management, environmental monitoring, and providing valuable insights for transport managers. Kodifly is also part of the NVIDIA Inception program, which supports startups working on advancements in AI and data science.

Laidlaw Scholars Ventures is a non-profit organisation specializing in funding startups founded and run by Laidlaw Scholars. This investment represents Kodifly's first round of external funding. The startup plans to use these funds to expand its expertise beyond the railway sector into airport and highway management and pursue overseas expansion. This aligns with Kodifly's vision to leverage spatial intelligence to transform transport infrastructure management.

Now based in the newly built NSTP AI Tower at NUST, Kodifly will leverage the advanced R&D facilities and robust ecosystem for product development. The startup is poised to make significant strides in enhancing transportation infrastructure with its innovative AI technologies.
