Background information

Nicholas Brooke is an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Valuation Leader based in Hong Kong, where he has lived for over 40 years. He moved there in 1980 to become Deputy CEO of Swire Properties Ltd following senior positions as a chartered surveyor in the UK and across the Middle East. Currently, he is a Justice of the Peace in Hong Kong and a member of the Election Committee responsible for the selection of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR. Nicholas is a former President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a former Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Town Planning Board and a former member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority.

In 2012, Nicholas Brooke was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Chief Executive of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR in recognition of his distinguished public and community service, particularly for his significant contribution in promoting innovation and technology development in Hong Kong.

He is a recognised authority on land administration and planning matters and he is heavily involved with initiatives designed to improve the quality of life in Hong Kong by improving for the benefit of society.
