New CEO appointed at The Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub (TIH) in Gauteng, South Africa has appointed Bangani Jeffrey Mpangalasane as its new chief executive officer.

Previously the chief operations officer of Pikitup, a waste management company of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Mr Mpangalasane’s professional career spans 15 years. During this time, he has worked as an innovation and strategic management lead and held roles in state-owned enterprises and the private and public sectors.

Mr Mpangalasane takes over from Mothibedi Matshele, the outgoing interim CEO of TIH. A member of our community since 2001, TIH offers several incubation programmes in the bioeconomy (agro-processing and pharmaceutical), smart industries (ICT and advanced manufacturing) and green economy (water purification, waste management and renewable energy).

It also operates a range of enterprise development, skills development and innovation enabling programmes both in the science park and throughout the Gauteng region.
