Three new members join the global IASP community in April

This month three new members have joined IASP from Austria, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

HighTech Campus Villach (Austria)

HighTech Campus Villach (HTCV)  is a technology hub supporting startups in electronics, microelectronics, mechatronics, and sensors. Developed in phases with €8 million from the European Regional Development Fund and Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund, it currently offers 9,000m² across two buildings, with plans to expand to 16,000m². Facilities include office units and labs. Key residents are Silicon Alps Cluster and Silicon Austria Labs. HTCV also oversees IASP member Lakeside Science & Technology Park.

Parque Científico y Tecnológico de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (Mexico)

Located at the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, the Parque Científico y Tecnológico Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (PCyT-UAEH) covers 77,000 m², dedicating 4,900 m² to innovation. Since 2014, it has advanced research in biotechnology, hydrology, energy, and materials science, among others. It fosters collaboration among university, business, and government sectors to create technology-based companies and manage innovation projects. Key services include technology transfer, collaborative R&D, and patenting. The park also features the Technological Observatory for technological monitoring and competitive intelligence.

Wadi Makkah Ventures (Saudi Arabia)

Wadi Makkah Ventures (WMV), affiliated with Umm Al-Qura University, supports innovation in Saudi Arabia’s Makkah province, focusing on Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage services. Spanning 4,666 m², WMV operates incubators and accelerators in sectors like software, electronics, health, and more. It provides startups with financial support, co-working spaces, an Innovation Lab, and other essential services. Currently, WMV hosts six companies and supports 37 incubatees. Programs like the Nomow incubator and Saudi Entrepreneurial Talks enhance market viability and encourage networking. WMV also plans to extend its services to other public, private, and non-profit organisations.
