Building Digital Capacity: Konza Technopolis´ Role in Supporting Digitalisation

Digitalization is at the heart of Africa’s “Silicon Savannah”, Konza Technopolis, as it adopts digital economic models in implementing its overarching mandate of creation of a well-connected and wordclass smart city characterized by tech-enabled and smart physical infrastructure, smart mobility, smart utility grids, smart energy, and implementation of intelligent and automated systems, among others. Complementarily, Konza is committed to advancing Kenya’s “leapfrogging” through contribution to a knowledge-based economy and innovation ecosystem by implementing strategies that support Digital Government, business, Infrastructure, innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship; and Digital Skills and Values as a catalyst to drive the digital economy. Konza Technopolis is alive to the fundamental role of data in influencing digital transformation, which it supplements its smart city services through its National Tier III Data Centre.
