Description:
Progress in science and technology is accelerating in the face of changing industry landscapes, resulting in increasingly frequent clashes between technology and regulation. To address this issue, the Korean government established and has been operating what is known as the "Regulatory Sandbox" system. The regulatory Sandbox is a framework that permits innovative technologies and products to be introduced early in the market under particular conditions to test and evaluate their performance. The regulatory sandbox system of the INNOPOLIS, in particular, focuses on the commercialization of public research technology by resolving regulatory concerns in research institutions. Through such a framework, research institutions and companies can benefit from the freedom to test and develop new technologies within the INNOPOLIS for a set period. This allows free and innovative R&D and commercialization of public technology, ultimately helping to solve various social issues, which is our ultimate objective.
