HUB de Innovacion Punta Bergantin

Located close to the city of Puerto Plata, HUB de Innovación Punta Bergantin is the result of synergies between public and private sector partners. The initiative, consolidated under the quadruple helix model which includes government, business, academia and civil society, aims at stimulating human capital and providing the necessary infrastructure to develop innovation and entrepreneurship projects in the Dominican Republic. The Hub is designed on 5 key pillars including the development of a digital hotbed to train more than 10,000 technology talents in the coming years, and the creation of a centre of excellence in research and development and will focus on boosting entrepreneurship through the creation of incubators and accelerators that offer special conditions to attract and retain digital nomads and entrepreneurial teams. The hub mainly focuses on the sectors of agriculture and forestry, education, renewable energies, environment, and ICT & Communications.
