How to Create Healthy Homes: To Identify and Reduce Energy Poverty in Getafe City

This paper illustrates the collaboration of Getafe Municipality and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid nurturing an innovation ecosystem for the transformation of the industrial traditional environment towards a modern high-value knowledge-based industry and the innovation of the public services provided by Getafe. Herein a specific example describes the 6M€ and 4-year project is ENERGY POVERTY INTELLIGENCE UNIT (EPIU), a very innovative project based on the change in the focus of energy poverty attention as it achieves reaction to prevention by using data, beyond monetary constraints of individuals, for the citizen welfare.
