Regional Development Platform Networks in the Development of Regional Innovation System: Erban as a Good Practice Example

This research emphasizes the role of Business Angel Networks (BAN) that contribute to regional development and the prevention of resource scarcity in innovation development. This research aims to discuss the role of BAN as a regional development platform network in constructing the Regional Innovation Ecosystem (RIE). In this context, it is an examination of ERBAN (Erciyes Business Angel Network), established in Kayseri/Türkiye within the body of Erciyes Technopark, as an example of good practice. ERBAN is the first accredited BAN in Anatolia. In this study, BAN is accepted as RIE because they encourage regional innovation and enable to build of innovative ecosystems. In addition, considering the contribution of angel investments to regional development, BAN are accepted as Regional Development Platform Networks (RDPN), and ERBAN is recommended as a Regional Development Platform Network (RDPN).
