The Implementation of the Augusto Severo Science and Technology Park (PAX | RN) and the Plan for Green Hydrogen at Rio Grande do Norte State in Brazil

Technology parks play an important role in regional economic development through innovation. This paper aims to present the characteristics of the Science and Technology Park Augusto Severo (PAX|RN), which is being implemented in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN), located in the most northeastern region of Brazil, and also to describe the plan to produce green hydrogen in the RN state. The Park has three initial sectors of activities: Health, Industry 4.0, and Energy. In the Energy sector, the state of RN has the greatest wind potential (onshore and offshore), the largest installed wind power generation capacity in the country and a high solar potential, inputs that are all relevant for the production of green hydrogen. The implementation of the park will enable with the integration of the various players involved, the strengthening of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the state.
