The Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI) is the science park of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). The science park is conceived as a space to connect university, business and society in order to streamline the generation of knowledge-intensive activities. It aims to capitalise on the UPV’s knowledge generating impact by transferring its results and contributing to socio-economic development.

The science park houses many UPV research institutes, with a total of 140,000 m2 of scientific infrastructure and projects carried out by more than 3,000 researchers. It provides access to sophisticated equipment and infrastructure (electron microscopy, various types of spectrography, sequencing platforms, clean rooms), which can be used for specific tests and measurements. Some of them such as, electromagnetic compatibility tests or the calibration of electrical equipment, are carried out within the framework of accredited certification laboratories.

The Polytechnic City of Innovation is home to many startups and spinoffs founded by university students and graduates commercialising their research, as well as multinationals who have based their R&D departments in the park and collaborate closely with the UPV in both research and recruitment.The park offers advice to companies seeking innovation and technology solutions, helping them to create more innovative products, solve production line issues and improve processes. The work carried out by UPV researchers can provide solutions to needs for which there are no answers in the business sector, identifying knowledge available in the and facilitating contact between academics and industry.
