Prince of Songkla University Science Park
Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is a leading public university, committed to academic excellence, reputable research and innovation. Established in 1967 as the first university in southern Thailand. The original aims of the university were to raise the general education standards and support regional industry and development. It is one of the nine national research universities and among the top 10 comprehensive universities in Thailand by Quacquarelli Symonds’ ranking. This educational institution focuses primarily on innovation and society with academic excellence. This university has also contributed significantly to the development of the country and consistently turned out well-qualified graduates of high-professional standing. This university is particularly concerned with building academic leadership and innovation through research for developing the country in general and the southern region of Thailand in particular, creating a linkage to the society and global network.
Its mission is also to produce globally-recognized graduates with academic and professional competence, honesty, discipline, public service mindset and practical skills for the 21st century, based on experience gained from practice.The university comprises 39 faculties, colleges and institutes. It has four hospitals, and boasts more than 40 excellence and research centres. PSU describes its central aim as raising general education standards, and supporting regional industry and development.The university has international cooperation agreements with institutions in more than 40 countries, as well as a number of international agencies, including the World Health Organisation, UNESCO and the European Union. It also has two Confucius Institutes, one of which was awarded the Confucius Institute of the Year award in 2009.
