SRTI Park hosts Japanese delegation to boost technological investments
The Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) in the United Arab Emirates recently hosted a high-level Japanese delegation led by HE Jun Imanishi, consul general of Japan in Dubai, to explore potential investment opportunities.
"The strong UAE-Japan bilateral relations date back to several decades and have been witnessing phenomenal growth in diverse sectors”, said Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park and IASP West Asia and North Africa (WANA) Division president, who welcomed the delegation.
He added: “Sharjah stands out as a major hub for Japanese investments, with numerous Japanese companies operating in the emirate, contributing significantly to economic cooperation.”
The visitors toured key facilities, including the Middle East Testing and Smart Manufacturing Center and the Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SOILAB), the first incubator for startups in Sharjah.
With over 200 Japanese companies operating in Sharjah, the visit aimed to strengthen ties and foster collaboration in the innovation sector. According to reports, Japan’s trade with the UAE has surpassed $30 billion, emphasising the growing economic cooperation between the two nations.
