Green Energy Park vzw
Green Energy Park, a collaboration between Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel (UZB), was established in 2019 to foster innovative and sustainable solutions to societal challenges.
Located at Research Park Zellik, Green Energy Park serves as a strategic living lab, stimulating cooperation between businesses, knowledge institutes and government bodies. It offers unique spaces to test and refine innovative developments in real-world settings.
Key initiatives include the Smart Village Lab and the 100% green Nexus data centre. The data centre will house VUB and UZB servers and the next Flemish supercomputer, supporting advanced research in energy, mobility, climate, environment and health, robotics, AI and electronics.
Currently in its early development stages, Green Energy Parks's first incubatees are expected to start work onsite by 2025, with additional facilities anticipated by late 2025 or early 2026.
