Background information

Innovatum Science Park, located in Trollhättan, Sweden, has served as a hub for innovation and sustainable development for over 25 years. It brings together businesses, academia, and public institutions to support collaboration and the advancement of industrial technology.

A key element of the park is its incubator programme, which currently supports around 40 early-stage companies, with a focus on hardware, deep tech, and additive manufacturing. Innovatum is one of three ESA Business Incubation Centres (ESA BIC) in Sweden dedicated to the space industry, with a high proficiency in the use of digital tools and well-defined methodologies.

Innovatum is also engaged in several demonstrators and testbeds. One is PTC (Production Technology Centre) which is an international hub for leading research and development within additive manufacturing (AM). Other testbeds are within industrial symbiosis, circular economy and marine technology.

In addition, the science park is engaged in and leads around 50 research and development projects aimed at supporting the transition within the focus areas of sustainable industry, sustainable energy, and the blue bioeconomy
