ATAP visits IASP Headquarters
IASP was delighted to meet our new members from Turkey, Anadolu Technology Research Park (ATAP), when they came to IASP World Headquarters today.
The ATAP delegation, including Board representatives Metin Saraç and Eren Gönenli and General Manger Sedat Telçeken, met with IASP’s director of knowledge management and partnerships Alicia Shelley. They presented their project before continuing for a technical visit of Malaga TechPark, where IASP offices are based.
Arising from university-industry cooperation, ATAP was established in 1991 with support from the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UN Science and Technology Fund for Development (UNFSTD), and is the management company of Eskişehir Technology Development Zone. The park has premises at the Anadolu and Osmangazi Universities, and also includes the neighbouring Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Technopark and Eskişehir Technical University Technopark. The wider innovation ecosystem also includes the local Chamber of Industry, as well as clusters dedicated to ceramics, aviation and railway systems.
The services ATAP provides to entrepreneurs in the Eskişehir Technology Development Zone include incubation, quality assurance, R&D consultancy, a student talent pool, internationalisation assistance, support finding investors, tech transfer and intellectual property services, as well as a Design and Innovation Centre focussed on aviation, railways, machinery, automotive and white goods sectors. It is currently home to 140 companies and almost 1000 employees, and has a 99% occupancy rate.
