Two of our members — Lakeside Science & Technology Park (Austria) and Lausitz Science Park (Germany) — have recently strengthened ties to enhance future collaboration between these innovative institutions. They signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), committing to close cooperation in research, development and sustainable technologies.

The aim is to create synergies, exchange knowledge and strengthen the innovative effectiveness of both regions. The MOU places an emphasis on topics such as renewable energy, digital transformation and technological innovation. The exchange between companies, research institutions and start-ups in both regions is seen as an essential part of the cooperation.

Bernhard Lamprecht, Managing Director of Lakeside Park, emphasizes: “This partnership enables us to learn from each other and develop sustainable innovations together. The structural change offers enormous potential for new technologies that we will advance together.”  Prof. Dr. Michael Hübner, Vice President for Research and Transfer at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, adds: “Lausitz and Carinthia are facing similar challenges in terms of structural change. Through our collaboration, we can drive regional innovation and strengthen international research networks.”

This partnership makes a clear statement about the importance of cooperation between science parks, areas of innovation and innovation spaces in order to develop sustainable solutions and overcome global challenges together. We’re excited to see the impact of this new partnership and the innovations it will bring in the future.
