This solution is part of the of the DECON-UVMNP project which encourages designing prototypes to solve issues caused by SARS-CoV-2. The prototypes will be made and tested both under laboratory conditions and within a clinical/hospital environment in order to reach the technological maturity level of TRL=8.

The mobile UVC device is very easy to operate, allowing the operator to select by a mere button push between using 2, 4, or 8 lamps of the irradiation assembly, depending on the dimensions of the premises/room requiring decontamination.

At the same time, and again as needed, the operator can start a fan located in the upper section of the UV-C irradiation assembly, in order to force an air flow through the high intensity UV-C radiation region between the mercury lamps, and as a consequence to produce an additional decontamination in continuous flow of the air in the premises/room.

The device can provide decontamination for premises/room with a volume of about 30 c.m. within 5-10 min., and can be used to decontaminate any type of closed or semi-opened premises, from hospital rooms, hospital corridors, classrooms, and school corridors, the inside of transportation means.
