We have developed a methodology to explore the role of areas of innovation as drivers of growth and development. Our approach is based on the implementation of a multi-layer geospatial data analysis to understand industry hotspots, company portfolios, mobility choices, or real estate trends. We aim to improve the quality of life and achieve resilient new and existing science park developments. This paper explains our methodology through our work in projects such as the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor, Cambridge Science Park and Cambridge Science Park North, and Milton Park (Oxfordshire).
We will explain how we use data to: • Explore industry synergies and their promotion at a regional level. • Test parametric design options against sustainable performance. • Improve recruitment and retention for science parks.
We also comment on the most insightful metrics we have used for discussion with the IASP community.
