Description:
The transition towards a circular economy is more pressing than ever. In the region of Västra Götaland in western Sweden, the heart of Sweden’s process industry is situated. This industry employs thousands of people and produce important products for societal development but is also a large source of greenhouse gas emissions. The 10-year initiative Climate-leading Process Industries, coordinated by Johanneberg Science Park, aims to help decrease these emissions and co-create innovative circular solutions for a climate-leading process industry. This is made possible by the cooperation of members within the initiative; 50 active organizations representing the industry, academia and government. Johanneberg Science Park provides a buzzling environment for the initiative to thrive, this by facilitating sustainability at neutral collaborative arena to be inspired at. Several projects and networking events are ongoing, the majority divided in four focus areas: recycling refinery, renewable feedstocks, climateleading process technologies and climate-leading value chains.
