IASP Global Survey 2024: Science and technology parks, innovation districts, areas of innovation and other organised innovation spaces throughout the world

The study presents the main facts and figures of the AOIs/IDs/STPs industry worldwide. Divided into eleven chapters, it analyses more than 100 variables covering various aspects of AOIs/IDs/STPs such as their creation, location and infrastructure, governance, finance, services, business community, competitiveness, and more, offering a global perspective of these elements.

The results of the IASP Global Survey 2024 highlight the evolving role of innovation spaces in promoting technology, business development and environmental sustainability. A focus on strong relationships with universities, a growing emphasis on sustainability, and robust development of knowledge-based services are key drivers of success. However, continued financial support and streamlined regulatory frameworks are needed to  address constraints, particularly in promoting international competitiveness and expanding service offerings. Organised innovation spaces must continue to adapt to global trends to ensure that they remain hubs for cutting-edge technology and sustainable economic development.
