White City Innovation District receives major Life Sciences and Deep Tech investment
Unveiled during London Life Sciences week, the White City Deep Tech Campus, part of the wider White City Innovation District, is receiving significant support in the life sciences sector.
In a joint venture with Bruntwood Scitech, providing upwards of £200m in investment, the achievement aims to grow the nation’s knowledge advancement for both life science and deep tech businesses. The new innovation facility in London’s White City will deliver world-class labs and workspaces where deep tech startups, scaleups and global businesses can co-locate, collaborate, and grow with Imperial’s world-leading academics, clinicians and researchers.
Stephen Cowan, Leader of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, said: “This landmark £200 million investment from Bruntwood SciTech in the White City Innovation District is another huge vote of confidence in our transformative science, technology, engineering, maths, medicine and media (STEM³) industrial strategy."
Bruntwood SciTech is a leading developer of scientific ecosystems, office and lab spaces, and further business services. The investment is Bruntwood SciTech’s first in London, connecting its innovation-led campus portfolio to the Innovation District. The major support opens the doors to considerable economic growth, job creation, and innovative science development in the district.
State-of-the-art advancements to the White City Deep Tech Campus will add to their host-university's researcher opportunities, as they gain access to top resources, thus showcasing the potential of science and tech investments linked to higher education institutions and how they can positively impact both the educational and business environment.
