Description:
A Science Park is the perfect enabler able to successfully bring together research, private and public partners to deliver the smart energy transition. As providers of neutral unifying space, they can enable partners with different goals to successfully deliver innovative projects. This approach is crucial as the energy transition requires us to think differently stretching and challenging legislative, technical and organisational borders – something that is difficult for any company or city to do on their own. One example of this is Johanneberg Science Park in Göteborg, Sweden. Our work with cities supporting heat network development, in putting smart energy systems into real life demonstrations, in pioneering flexible energy markets is proving to be fruitful pushing the energy transition forwards here in Sweden. Science Parks can provide the perfect space to replicate and upscale the 21st century energy systems this century’s climate and energy challenge demands.
