Eyes on the horizon – looking ahead to IASP Beijing 2025
In 2025 the IASP world conference will be going to Beijing and will explore the theme: "Elevating excellence: Innovation spaces driving high-quality development."
The Beijing team proudly receieved the IASP conference flag from Konza Technopolis at the Nairobi World Conference. The 2025 event will spend four days delving into how the rapid development of science and technology and the advancement of economic globalization, science parks, districts, areas of innovation and other innovation spaces have significant advantages and great potential in fostering innovation. The conference will look at the important role such ecosystems play in building regional innovation capabilities, improving the industrial structure, and promoting employment.
‘Development’ will be a key word, as sub themes will cover topics linked to urban development, economic development, and development trends as well as build a community of innovation and entrepreneurship and open innovation ecosystems.
China as host country has been one of the biggest drivers China of global growth for years, and ranks 11th among the 133 economies featured in the Global Innovation Index 2024. Hosted by Z-Park, the setting and theme for this world conference is an excellent opportunity to design a knowledge-heavy, stimulating programme that will attract peers from around the world to take part in the knowledge sharing.
The team of Z-Park was with us in Nairobi to give our guests a preview of what they can look forward to, also with a stand in the exhibition area. Beijing Deputy Mayor Jun Ma was called on stage during the closing ceremony, where he extended a warm invite to the audience to join us in Beijing before receiving the IASP World Conference flag from this year's host Konza Technopolis.
This year in Nairobi the Z-Park team were joined by other IASP members from China, bringing the delegation from China to be the country with most delegates at IASP Nairobi, not including the host country Kenya, closely followed by Brazil, Thailand and Spain.
IASP Beijing will be taking place in the capital city, and the IASP team and the local host are already working hard to secure the best venues for both the main conference programme. These initiatives aim to give delegates an authentic Chinese experience, highlighted by an unforgettable dinner at the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Great Wall of China. The local host is also working on multiple technical tours to showcase various parks and innovation sites in Beijing and offer delegates an in-depth understanding of the broader innovation ecosystem.
Keep an eye out for the super early bird registration fees and the conference Call for Contributions, which will be available soon! See any event updates here and for more on Z-park itself, see here.
