Smart Health Monitoring of Structures

The Office of International Affairs of Semnan Science and Technology Park (SSTP) presents a free webinar on “Smart Health Monitoring of Structures”, at 9am CET on March 6th. 

Many existing structures have researched to the end of their service life worldwide and are now exposed to a sudden catastrophic failure. In this presentation, the history of Smart Health Monitoring (SHM) system development is briefly explained. The employed damage identification methods in SHM systems are briefly described, and their limitations are discussed. Some examples of damage identification in scaled-down structures through wavelet transforms, and artificial neural networks are demonstrated. Besides, the application of SHM systems in some real full-scale structures is presented.
