Last month, Technopark Morocco welcomed Hussain Al Mahmoudi, President of the IASP West Asia and North Africa (WANA) division, to its Casablanca site.

During his visit, Hussain engaged in strategic discussions with Lamiae Benmakhlouf, General Director of Technopark Morocco and former IASP Treasurer, exploring avenues to strengthen collaboration and enhance startup growth opportunities across the region.

The discussions focused on identifying initiatives that will empower startups by facilitating access to new markets. Key areas of collaboration include soft-landing programs to enable both startups' ecosystems to expand internationally with structured support. Additionally, both Hussain and Lamiae explored opportunities for startups to participate in high-impact networking events, training workshops, and venture-building initiatives.

Recognising the importance of fostering a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem, Hussain and Lamiae emphasized the need to leverage their respective networks to provide startups with direct access to innovation hubs, industry expertise, and top-tier talent. This potential collaboration aims to create a bridge between the Moroccan, UAE and overall WANA region startup communities, ensuring a seamless exchange of knowledge, resources, and business opportunities.

The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Technopark Morocco and IASP to driving economic development through innovation and strategic partnerships. Moving forward, both entities will work towards structuring these initiatives, providing startups with the necessary tools and platforms to thrive on a global scale.

We celebrate this visit as part of the ongoing collaboration between IASP and the various innovation spaces and communities we serve around the world.
