Earlier this month IASP has been represented at events in Brazil and Australia.

IASP Advisory Council member Martin Gorosko, TEHNOPOL Tallin Science Park (Estonia) headed off to Anprotec's annual event, this year held in São José dos Campos, Brazil at the São José dos Campos Technology Innovation Park (PIT). He represented IASP at a session reflecting on the new roles of innovation ecosystems and exploring the evolution that these ecosystems need to take on in the face of contemporary economic and social challenges. He presented some exclusive highlights of IASP data and the audience also enjoyed hearing insights from IASP Latin America Division President Adriana Faria (tecnoPARQ Viçosa) and Thai-Bispa Director Watcharin (Lhing) Witthayaweerasak, skilfully moderated by Guilherme Ary Plonski of University of São Paulo.

Other familiar faces from the Brazilian Innovation ecosystem were also present in the various panel sessions, hearing from IASP members TECNOSINOS,  Parque Tecnológico da UFRJ, TECNOPUC and Porto Digital.

On the other side of the world in Australia, IASP Asia Pacific Division President Tom Bentley (Melbourne Innovation Districts, Australia) and  Stephen Cowan (White City Innovation District, UK) represented IASP at the National Health & Innovation Precincts Summit in Melbourne. Stephen Cowan gave a keynote address on driving inclusive economic growth, and Tom Bentley took part in an engaging panel session on effective placemaking & precinct sustainability, discussing getting the right balance of people, place and purpose to create a thriving community.

As well as hearing other cases within the national context, the audience also enjoyed hearing a case study from Daedeok Innopolis, South Korea.

It is great to see these platforms being used to share such interesting cases from our industry, stimulating debate and sharing knowledge cross-borders.
