IASP Global Survey report published
IASP is pleased to announce the release of our latest Global Survey, a comprehensive report on the current trends in our industry. The data was gathered over the course of 2024, with 126 Science & Technology Parks (STPs), Innovation Districts (IDs) and Areas of Innovation (AOIs) from 51 countries responding.
Divided into eleven chapters, it analyses data provided by IASP members on more than 100 variables covering various aspects of AOIs/IDs/STPs such as their creation, location and infrastructure, governance, finance, services, business community, competitiveness, and more, offering a global perspective of these elements.
The results of the IASP Global Survey 2024 highlight the evolving role of innovation spaces in promoting technology, business development and environmental sustainability. A focus on strong relationships with universities, a growing emphasis on sustainability, and robust development of knowledge-based services are key drivers of success. However, continued financial support and streamlined regulatory frameworks are needed to address constraints, particularly in promoting international competitiveness and expanding service offerings. Organised innovation spaces must continue to adapt to global trends to ensure that they remain hubs for cutting-edge technology and sustainable economic development.
Exclusive for this edition is a special chapter on sustainability and environment, exploring the ways in which AOIs/IDs/STPs are taking these elements into account in their day-to-day activities, infrastructures and future planning.
We hope this report will allow AOI/ID/STP managers to better understand the evolution of the industry, benchmark their organisation against global trends and perhaps even provide inspiration for changes they could make in their own organisation.
The Global Survey is available from the Knowledge Room, and IASP members will receive their complimentary copy soon - keep an eye on your inbox.
