Background information

Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) is a prominent technology and innovation hub located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Managed by the Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC), a subsidiary of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), DTV plays a pivotal role in fostering research, development, and innovation activities within the region.

Established over 20 years ago, DTV Science Park has become a key site for knowledge-based economic development, hosting more than 30 leading global organisations, including SLB, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Sinopec, Sipchem, Saudi Electricity Company, and Yokogawa. DTV is also surrounded by leading institutions, such as KFUPM, a renowned research university, and Saudi Aramco, a major global energy company.

Specialising in the fields of energy and sustainability, the DTV ecosystem supports a workforce of over 1,750 professionals, contributing to more than 400 peer-reviewed publications, 450 patents, 950 technology transfer outcomes, and 1,000 collaborative research projects.

 DTVC is actively advancing efforts to evolve DTV into a more integrated and connected innovation hub, aligning with the innovation district model. This transformation aims to enhance the flow of talent, ideas, and resources, driving greater economic impact for the region.
