Cape Verde Tech Park receieves high level delegation
The African Development Bank, among a high-level delegation, visited the Cape Verde Tech Park and praised its rapid growth, high occupancy, and contribution to economic diversification. The delegation, also featuring the EU, World Bank, and governments from Portugal, Luxembourg, and Spain (the Budget Support Group), noted the Park’s dynamic startup ecosystem, nurtured by events and seminars. Initially funded by a €31.6 million loan from the African Development Bank, an additional €14 million was granted in July 2023 to enhance climate resilience, bringing total funding to €45.59 million.
Opened in November 2023, the Tech Park is progressing well toward its 2025 official opening, with capacity planned for over 1,000 innovators and employees. African Development Bank's Deputy Director, Dr. Joseph Martial Ribeiro, and Cabo Verde's Planning Director, Gilson Pina, highlighted the project's success and impact on Capo Verde’s tech vision. The Park also aims to collaborate with global institutions to train 300 African youth in soft skills for jobs in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, serving as a model for African countries on the economic benefits of tech investment.
Congratulations to Cape Verde Tech Park for this great progress!
