Description:
Years of experience in the development of science & technology parks and industrial innovation campuses all over the world taught us the importance of a comprehensive approach, but more importantly the relevance of innovation programmes linked to modern innovation areas. These ‘soft’innovation programmes mostly focus on the joint development of knowledge, new business casesand connecting talent from diverse backgrounds.Case studies from the Netherlands teach us that these innovation programmes are already a basic precondition to a successful innovation area. The content of the programmes (knowledge exchange, financial vouchers to support business cases, connecting talent, business development support, etc.) are important but the main theme and distinguishing brand factor becomes the defining aspect. Thekey take away is that these programmes are crucial to establish a ‘soul’ and specific ‘flavour’ to thepark, campus and its community.
